Chef Abi and her team at Cake Works have been turning wedding cake dreams into reality for over four years. The wedding cake is more than the centerpiece of your wedding reception—it is a tradition that has been practiced as long as we can remember. The ceremony of the couple cutting and feeding cake to each other is one of the highlights of the reception. The wedding cake is a reflection of the couple’s style and sensability!
Chef Abi and Cake Works consults with each couple to fine tune the look, flavors, and details that create a cake that both you (and your guests of course!) will love.
Pre-Consultation Checklist for the Couple
Homework and questions that you should discuss before coming in for a consultation:
-What are your colors? Bring swatches if your exact colors are important to you.
-Are you considering fresh flowers for the cake? If you are meeting with a florist before coming to the cake consultation, discuss flowers for the cake with them also. We can provide flowers, or we can put your flowers on the cake, or your florist may want to do the decorating.
-Do you have any inspirations from other areas of the wedding? The invitations, or the flowers you are using, or even your wedding dress can be the inspiration for the cake.
-What is your style, and the style of the wedding? When you start looking at wedding cakes, there are so many to choose from! You need to keep in mind that while you may like all of them, something that is in keeping with the style of the wedding will help to narrow down the selection.
-Lastly, What is your budget and how big a cake do you want? Cakes usually end up ranging somewhere between $4.00 – $10.00/serving, so you should discuss how much you want to spend, and then keep in mind that everything may not be within your budget, however we may be able to give you different options to help you get there.
We generally offer consultations and cake tastings Monday Through Friday between 12 and 5:00pm, on the hour. There is a $20. non – refundable fee for the consultation, and we ask that you limit it to yourself and 2 other adults. The consultation includes a sampling of 6-7 different cake flavors, and a discussion with your consultant on the design and style of your cake. This will take about 30-45 minutes, and is a good time to ask about all the different options that are available to you. Whether you have no idea at all, or know exactly what you want, we will be able to help you and give you a quote or estimate. At the end of the consultation you will have the option to put down a deposit on your cake, or take a copy of the quote home to think about.
We offer buttercream, whipped cream, or fondant finishes to any of our cakes, however each finish does not necessarily lend itself to all types of decoration.

A traditional southern cake made with buttermilk and a hint of cocoa powder then layered with our signature white chocolate cream cheese frosting.
Chocolate Butter Cake
Layer with your favorite filling; Chocolate ganache, hazelnut, peanutbutter, or French Vanilla buttercream, cream cheese icing and many more.
Vanilla butter cake with real vanilla, your choice of filling; pasion fruit, chocolate, hazelnut buttercream. What is your favorite color.
Layers of chocolate butter cake, filled with chocolate ganache, coffee buttercream, and crushed up macadamia nut brittle inside.
A delicately spiced moist carrot cake filled with a white chocolate cream cheese frosting.
A very dense chocolate cake filled with ganache and raspberry jam.
Haupia Coconut Cream
Three layers of vanilla chiffon cake layered with coconut haupia and coconut whipped cream.
Strawberries and Cream
A soft vanilla chiffon cake layered with fresh whipped creamed strawberries.
Three layers of guava chiffon layered with guava mousse; kick it upa notch with the addition of strawberries.
Vanilla chiffon cake layered with passion fruit mousse; Ask about adding mandarin orange, blueberries, or strawberries. Delicious!
Vanilla or Chocolate Chiffon
Light vanilla or chocolate chiffon cake with your choice of French Vanilla or fresh whipping cream
Cost Per Serving
The cost of your cake is determined by several factors, the most important being the number and size of tiers as well as your design options (choice of flavor, custom shapes, colors, decorations, rental of fountains, bridges or cake stands, purchase of cake toppers, frosting/hand-made sugar/fresh flowers, and delivery). The chart below will help you with the approximate number of servings to determine the size and base price of your cake.
The cost per serving (or per person) ranges between $4.00-$10 and up.
We can deliver your cake to any part of O‘ahuisland. Delivery charges range from $35–$100
Deposits and Payments
At the time your wedding cake contract is finalized, a deposit of 20% of the cake order total is required. The remaining balance is due no later than 2 weeks before the reception date.
